The airplane, which had 230 passengers and 12 crew members on board, was enroute from Newark, N.J, to Copenhagen, Denmark, when it was diverted to Bangor on Wednesday. It landed shortly before 7:30 p.m.

Tony Caruso, the airport's interim director, says the passengers and crew have been checked for smoke inhalation but that he has not heard of any injuries.

Caruso tells The Bangor Daily News that the flight has been cancelled and that airport officials are helping the passengers find accomodations.
