Newark Mayor Cory Booker is once again looking for a communications director.

Esmeralda Diaz Cameron, who was named to the post on an acting basis about six weeks ago, confirmed Monday that she's leaving for a job in the private sector. Her last day with the city will be Aug. 3.

Cameron had been a city spokeswoman for several years before taking over for Anne Torres in late May. Torres resigned after Booker drew flak from fellow Democrats for criticizing the Obama campaign during an appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Cameron did not disclose what firm she would be working for, describing it only as a "Fortune 30 company."

It's not clear who will succeed her as communications director.
