Newark man sentenced for 3 armed carjackings in 1 day
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- A Newark man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in three armed carjackings that took place on the same day.
New Jersey's U.S. attorney's office says Louis Holmes was sentenced Thursday in federal court in Newark.
Prosecutors say the 25-year-old Newark resident previously pleaded guilty to three counts of carjacking and one count of brandishing a firearm during the course of a violent crime.
The U.S. attorney's office says Holmes admitted to participating with others in two armed carjackings in Newark and one in Jersey City on March 27, 2012.
