Newark cops seek armed robbery suspect from Woodbridge

NEWARK — Police say they have identified a man they believe robbed a 59-year-old acquaintance last Thursday night at gunpoint.

According to police, the suspect has been identified as Mark Jackson, 49, of the Avenel section of Woodbridge.

Newark's public safety director urged anyone with information about Jackson's whereabouts to call the 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS, or 1-877-NWK-GUNS. All information provided will be kept anonymous and cash rewards are possible.
