New research says that performing some sort of ritual, like singing "Happy Birthday" or rubbing your chopsticks together, actually makes food taste better.

Researchers found that having test subjects unwrap and break apart a chocolate bar before eating it resulted in greater enjoyment when compared to subjects eating the bar like a normal human being. Why is this so?

The study's author thinks it is because the rituals make people more involved in what they are eating; basically, when your interest increases, your enjoyment does as well.
