We know the drill by now.  One week a study is released saying this stuff is good for you.  The next week another study will say it will kill you.

So, here's the latest information about drinking coffee.

The National Cancer Institute says older adults who consume three cups of coffee a day may lower the risk of cardiovascular disease, respiratory illness, stroke, and diabetes.

The findings, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, were purely observational.   It means they simply asked people how much coffee they drink and followed health history.

The study applied to folks who drank caffeinated and decaffeinated java.

It's suggested that you confer with your doctor before increasing your consumption of coffee.
