A new Tivo dvr is expected to be unveiled this week that will hold about 2,000 high definition movies (4,000 hours of programming). Who needs 24 terabytes of room for their movies and shows?

I have no idea; I could use one that’s a little bigger than the Directv model I have, but I could never fill that behemoth, even with every Jennifer Connelly movie in high-def. USA Today reports that the new Tivo device is expected to cost around $5,000, but that includes a lifetime subscription to Tivo’s service which normally costs $14.99 a month. You can record six separate streams at once, and you can swap out the hard drives which, in theory, makes it expandable. It’s expected to go on sale early next year.

Would you buy something like this?
