Anyone who doesn’t think Jersey’s got talent should have been with me this past weekend. Saturday night I hosted “Battle Millstone” in which ten bands competed for cash prizes and a chance to play Fright Fest at Great Adventure. Then on Sunday night I was honored to be a judge in the first round of the semi finals of the Big Joe Jersey Talent Show at Jenkinsons in Pt Pleasant.

What an incredible night as these kids ages 10-17 competed in front of a packed beach for a spot in the finals which take place Sept 2. This is the Biggest Big Joe Jersey Talent show ever with the winner walking away with a brand new Honda Civic LX, a piano from World Wide Piano, and $2000 dollars! Sitting next to me in the judges box was the legendary Robert John who you may remember for the hits “Sad Eyes” and remake of “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.”

The contestants were judged on talent, appearance and stage presence and they had it all! Congratulations to Paige Sidwa from Forked River who sang an Italian opera, Tina Siciliano who has an incredible range for a 12 year old, CJ Marsini who’s rendition of “Feeling Good” did both the song and Michael Buble justice and Chelsea Basretto a college student from Brick who’s red hair and voice lit up the night.

The next round of finals will be Sunday night Sept 26th and it’s definitely worth the trip for a great night out.
