Two lanes on the northbound side of the New Jersey Turnpike were closed Wednesday morning while State Police responded to reports of a suspicious package on a commuter bus.

Sgt. Jeff Flynn of the New Jersey State Police said troopers responded to the scene near mile marker 97.5 between exits 12 and 13 Wednesday morning. Upon arrival at the scene, the passengers were evacuated and the investigation continued. Flynn said there were no injuries reported at that time.

The New Jersey Turnpike Authority Tweeted at 11:11 that the roadway was reopened and that the "police have completed their investigation." However, Flynn said the investigation is ongoing and there will be more information available later.
