Flags at all state buildings will be lowered to half-staff for two days to honor the life and mourn the death of New Jersey native and Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.

Republican Gov. Chris Christie signed the executive order on Wednesday. It states that the flags will fly at half-staff from Friday through Saturday.

Scalia was born in Trenton in 1936.

Christie said Scalia was "the bedrock of the court," noting that the justice was "unwavering in his fidelity to the Constitution."
