New Jersey is in for early taste of summer as a Bermuda high pumps temperatures into the 90s over the next few days.

The New Jersey Department of environmental Protection has issued a Code Orange air quality alert for most of the state. The hot air over the area may become unhealthy for children, people with asthma, heart disease or other lung diseases and the elderly. They should avoid strenuous activity and stay indoors as much as possible.

Atlantic & Cape May Counties as well as most of north Jersey are not covered by the alert.

Temperatures are expected to head into the lower 90s with humidity until Sunday when showers are expected to break the heat. Thunderstorms are a low possibility for New Jersey until then.
