Part of what makes the Garden State unique is the amount of local born talent who go on to do big things in sports and entertainment. This week we had another example of great contributions of New Jerseyans. Well, if you're a sports fan.

Not only did Old Bridge's own Laurie Hernandez, the gymnast who won gold at this year's Olympics, win this year's Dancing with the Stars, but history was made on the ice as well.

Edison born and Jackson raised hockey goalie Anthony Stolarz became the first New Jersey born goalie to play in the NHL.

It's a great piece of sports trivia to test your friends with, and also doesn't hurt that he plays on my favorite team, the Philadelphia Flyers.
