Barnegat Light is a tiny shore town located at the northernmost tip of Ocean County’s Long Beach Island. One of New Jersey’s best fishing locations, Barnegat Light is known for its distinguished State Park housing “Old Barney”, the legendary 172-foot tall lighthouse. Beach Haven is one of the most popular beaches of Long Beach Island as its family-friendly attractions draw in crowds of tourists each summer. Island Beach State Park

Island Beach State Park

Island Beach State Park is located just south of the popular town of Seaside Park in Ocean County, yet it couldn’t be more opposite. Operated by the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry, Island Beach State Park is the largest reserve of undeveloped barrier island in New Jersey with a large natural area spanning over 1,200 acres. Island Beach State Park perfectly combines trees and wildlife with a beautiful sandy beach where visitors enjoy swimming, kayaking, fishing, and more.

Lavallette

A small town just north of Seaside Heights, the quiet borough of Lavallette boasts a peaceful bay and beautiful beach. Visitors return to Lavalette each year for water activities such as swimming, kayaking, surfing, crabbing, fishing and boating and for fun and relaxation in the sun. Lavallette’s boardwalk is great for walking, jogging, biking, or just enjoying the gorgeous views beyond the dunes.

Loveladies

On the northern end of Long Beach Island hidden between Harvey Cedars and Barnegat Light is the small community of Loveladies. With beautiful bayside homes and a relaxing beach, Loveladies is a local favorite. Many appreciate its harbor, its close proximity to Barnegat Light’s legendary lighthouse “Old Barney”, and its surrounding Barnegat Lighthouse State Park.

Ortley Beach

Also referred to as Dover Beaches South, Ortley Beach is an unincorporated area of Toms River in Ocean County. It is a small shore community occupying only one-quarter square mile of area between quiet Lavallette and lively Seaside Heights. Ortley Beach also has great restaurants, an acclaimed arcade and is a popular place for entertainment and nightlife with the addition of the Surf Club. Vacationers enjoy its close proximity to Island Beach State Park as well.

Although there is no boardwalk on any borough of LBI, Ship Bottom is packed with fun shops, fantastic restaurants and entertainment to complete a family’s vacation. Just a quarter-mile wide and surrounded by both bay and sea, Ship Bottom’s water sports are endless with plenty of space for fun at the beach for the whole family.

Named Surf City for its legendary strong tides, the 18-mile long and quarter-mile wide Long Beach Island borough of Surf City provides a relaxing beach with water adventures and fun for the whole family. While Surf City is one of the first towns at the entrance into Long Beach Island, it is a quieter town with small shops and restaurants.
