In New Jersey, health officials have confirmed three new cases of enterovirus.  They are all in Monmouth County.  That brings to 17 the total number of confirmed cases. Parents in Elizabeth are being warned of two possible cases of entero.  As a precaution all schools and school buses are being sanitized.

Someone has posted signs around Princeton telling residents to be on the lookout for NBC medical correspondent Nancy Snyderman.  She was busted breaking an Ebola quarantine last week when she went for take-out even though she had contact with a cameraman who has Ebola. Snyderman is now under guard at her Princeton home.  She's asked the signs to be taken down but Princeton officials refuse.

Governor Christie is urging all New Jersey residents to get a flu shot but now comes word some doctors, pharmacies and medical centers are having a hard time getting enough vaccine.

In Sayreville, no criminal charges have been brought against the coaching staff of the football program but the investigation is ongoing into the sexual hazing scandal that has rocked the school.  However, school officials are considering their own discipline.  Staff members are expected to report to work next week but what happens after that remains unclear.

Federal forecasters are still unsure whether the coming winter will be milder or more severe than last year.  But they seem to agree it will be wetter.

A Monmouth county man is facing animal cruelty charges for trapping raccoons and squirrels and eating them.  Neighbor's called the cops after they saw 11-carcasses hanging behind Aleksandr Bavykin's home.  Police say was using illegal traps to catch the rodents for food.

Asbury Park native Danny Devito is lobbying Chris Christie to free the pigs. Devito is an animal rights activist and wrote a letter to Christie asking him to sign a bill banning crates for pregnant pigs.  It's a tricky issue for Christie.  The impact in New Jersey is small. But it could anger farmers in Iowa, a key primary state if Christie decides to run for president.

29-year-old Brittany Maynard has terminal brain cancer and her decision to take her own life on November 1 has made news around the world. Advocates for New Jersey's "aid in dying for the terminally ill act" descended on the state house yesterday to implore lawmakers to approve the bill.

Another major heroin ring is busted, this one extending from ocean to Middlesex County.

New Jersey's unemployment rate has ticked down a notch, but is still way above the national average.  The private sector wasn't doing much hiring but government was mostly in education.  Still, the jobless rate remains the lowest since the start of the great recession.

The New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault estimates that one in four women who attend college will be sexually assaulted before they graduate. The state senate is considering a package of bills to address this real and often under-reported issue.

A federal bankruptcy judge will issue what the owners of Atlantic City's Trump Taj Mahal consider a life-or-death decision today.  They've asked the judge to void the casino's union contract.  If the judge refuses the company is expected to announce the Taj will close November 13.

State lawmakers have passed a measure they hope will persuade a judge to clear the way for legalized sports betting in New Jersey.  It removes mostly of the remaining legislative hurdles to allow sports books to operate at our casinos and horse tracks.

13 months ago Governor Christie directed state officials to take whatever action was required to get property easements down the shore, so dunes could be built up and beaches widened to protect us from future superstorms. Since that time 24 hundred public and private easements have been obtained, leaving only about 400 more to go.

With the national race underway to build driverless vehicles within the next ten years, Fort Monmouth could become a research and development hub for the east coast.
