Peter Ames Carlin, the same guy who wrote 'Catch A Wave: The Rise, Fall and Redemption of the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson' has a paperback coming out on Tuesday called 'BRUCE'. Unlike most books written about him, Bruce Springsteen collaborated fully with this author for a no-holds-barred examination deep into his life. It will cover everything. From his childhood, through all twenty Grammy Awards, his 120 million albums sold, one Academy Award and two Golden Globes right up to his number one 'Wrecking Ball' album.

One of my favorite Bruce books was 'It Ain't No Sin To Be Glad You're Alive: The Promise Of Bruce Springsteen' by Eric Alterman. Eric was not a biographer. He was simply a fan. A fan so drawn to Bruce he held, as many of us do, a reverence for the man's work, and it was interesting to see Bruce through his eyes.

As far as the book 'BRUCE' coming out Tuesday, the Star-Ledger said in a review that until a book comes out with the word By Bruce Springsteen on the cover, this one will be the definitive one, the definitive story of his life. I can't wait.
