National Weather Service Purchases Large Quantities of Ammunition
Are you wondering why the National Weather Service would buy large quantities of ammunition? Well don't feel bad, you're not alone, because so are we.
According to this article, the NWS has requested 46,000 rounds of hollow point bullets from the Department of Homeland Security. Another 6,000 rounds will be sent right here in our own backyard to Wall, NJ. The solicitation also requests 500 paper targets to be shipped to the NJ location as well.
So the question begs, if they are ordering paper targets, why would you need hollow point bullets?
You can see the actual solicitation by the National Weather Service by clicking here.
If this solicitation comes to fruition, what's next? Will we have to arm our very own Alan Kasper for his morning forecasts?
