A man who fell asleep at the counter of a diner wound up being arrested for drunk driving.
The New Jersey Herald reported that William J. Whelan, 44, of Rockaway nodded off at the counter of the Budd Lake Diner early on Friday morning. A Mount Olive Police officer who came to the diner smelled alcohol on Whelan and saw that he appeared to be impaired, according to the report.
