A second car involved with a fatal crash in Berlin is the subject of a search by police.

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo released surveillance video of the car she said was moments later struck John Hayes, 55 of Atco on Friday.

Colalillo said Hayes was first hit by a min-van as he crossed Tansboro Road at Gardens Road just before 7:30 p.m. While he was still in the road, Hayes was hit by the second vehicle, which continued on Tansboro Road and turned onto Berlin-New Freedom Road, according to Colallio.

Hayes was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he died, Colallio said.

The second car is described by police as a dark-colored sedan, possibly a mid-2000s Nissan Sentra, with New Jersey license plates. The video shows the sedan driving on the South White Horse Pike near the new New Berlin Diner. The driver of the minivan stopped and remained at the scene, according to Colallio.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the sedan to call Camden County Prosecutor’s Office detectives at 856-225-8514 or Berlin Borough Police at 856-783-4900.
