Like the need to ogle the car wreck, MTV, the former Music Television, will now outdo itself and debut a new offering to take the place of the much lauded ‘Jersey Shore’ in the Thursday night 10 PM slot.

It’s called 'Buckwild' and it takes the hijinks from Seaside to Sissonville, West Virginia.

And no, I don’t think this is the idyllic West Virginia John Denver sang about in Rocky Mountain High…although to see the trailer for the show, all the participants in the show and the producers had to have been high on something in conceptualizing it.

Then again, what’s so new about the idea…cafones are cafones no matter where they’re from.

Could be from Jersey (or New York as some were); or anywhere in the country, for that matter, as this show proves, we here in the Northeast don’t’ have the franchise in cafone-dom!

As MTV closes the door on one rowdy bunch of friends who make questionable life choices, they welcome another group into our homes. Premiering January 3 at 10 p.m. EST, "Buckwild" follows a group of nine rebellious twenty-somethings living in West Virginia. After its hourlong season premiere, the half-hour, 12-episode series will air two back-to-back new episodes each week from 10 p.m. EST.

MTV has released a description of the nine stars of "Buckwild," so you can familiarize yourself with the crew before the season premiere. Will they prove as ... memorable as the "Jersey Shore" gang? Only time will tell.

For more on the "cast", you can read about them here.

I just don't have the time.

But should curiosity get the best of you, then you must check out the trailer (trash!...see how I went there?) and judge for yourself.

Just as an aside...will the Governor of West Virginia complain and say they're all Virginia transplants? Just sayin'
