A day of fun in the snow ended in a trip to the hospital for an 11-year-old in Mount Olive.

The boy was sledding down a steep slope at Woodfield Estates that ended at a fenced-in retaining wall in Mount Olive Township on Tuesday.

Police Chief Mark Spitzer tells The Daily Record of Parsippany because of his speed, the boy slid under the fence, fell approximately 20 to 25 feet and hit a tree.

The boy was taken to a hospital for evaluation of head and internal injuries.
