Riverton police tell The Burlington County Times that the robbery at the Beneficial Bank branch occurred around 10:15 a.m. Saturday. They say it was committed by two Camden residents -- 41-year-old Angel Rodriguez and 53-year-old Jesus Perez -- who allegedly got about $7,000.

Authorities say at least one of the suspects was brandishing a handgun.

Shortly after the robbery occurred, a bank teller flagged down Police Officer Jeffrey Smith, who captured Rodriguez a few blocks away.

Meanwhile, a passing motorist stopped his vehicle and ran after Perez, who authorities say tried unsuccessfully to scale a fence. The man held Perez down until other police officers arrived at the scene a short time later.
