An analysis by The Associated Press has found that U.S. Rep. Rob Andrews' travels to California cost his campaign at least $97,000. The Democrat's trips coincide with the launching of his teenage daughter's show business career in Los Angeles.

In an email, the congressman's spokesman says the campaign has done nothing wrong, and that the travels have political benefits. He raised more than $260,000 from California donors from 2007 through 2011.

Andrews has attracted scrutiny over the past year from a Washington watchdog group that says his campaign spending and federal spending requests have benefited members of his family.
