More Subpoenas Issued in GWB Lane Closings
Executives at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey have one week to turn over documents in a continuing investigation into lane closings approaching the George Washington Bridge.
Assembly Transportation Committee Chairman John Wisniewski issued seven subpoenas Thursday to access documents and emails related to the unannounced lane closings that brought Fort Lee borough to a standstill for four days in September.
Wisniewski says he's gotten conflicting explanations so far.
Democrats suspect two local access lanes were diverted to punish Fort Lee's mayor for not endorsing Gov. Chris Christie for re-election.
Christie has denied it.
The Wall Street Journal, citing an unidentified source, reported Thursday that Christie called New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to complain that his appointee was pushing too hard for answers.
