NEW BRUNSWICK — Rutgers University and two former football players are being sued by a student who says the two players had sex with her when she was too drunk to consent.
The lawsuit, filed in Superior Court in Middlesex County, names Marques Ford and John Bowers as the assailants, according to Law360.
The alleged assault happened in 2015. The two players are no longer at Rutgers.
The accusation is the latest to mar the university and its football program.
In September, former football player Ruhann Peele was sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to assaulting another student in an attack that broke his jaw and nose.
Several other players and students are awaiting trial for their alleged roles in home-invasion robberies and drug dealing.
