The Star-Ledger of Newark reports Renee Tucker testified Thursday in Newark. She described the void left in her life by the death of son Terrance Aeriel.

He and two friends had attended or were going to attend Delaware State University when they were shot execution-style in 2007.

The victims' parents have sued the school district, claiming it left the schoolyard open when gang members were known to congregate there.

The six suspects were members of or associated with a street gang. All are in prison.

The survivor isn't named by The Associated Press because of sexual assault charges against two defendants. She could testify Monday.
