The Atlantic City Press is reporting that management of the Resorts Casino Hotel will be turned over to the operator of the Indian-owned Mohegan Sun casinos in Connecticut and Pennsylvania.

The newspaper Monday cited several unidentified people familiar with the deal.

Resorts scheduled a news conference Tuesday on what it calls "an exciting new partnership." Messages left with Mohegan Sun officials by The Associated Press were not immediately returned.

In May 1978 Resorts became the first casino to open outside of Nevada.

CEO Dennis Gomes, who died in February, and partner Morris Bailey purchased the casino in 2010. They oversaw the rebranding of the Resorts into a Roaring `20s theme but last month announced a partnership with singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett for a Margaritaville, tropical-island themed complex at the casino.
