But a Middlesex County jury on Monday found Steven Contreras guilty of aggravated assault, conspiracy and hindering apprehension charges. They could not reach a verdict on a reckless manslaughter charge against the 20-year-old Old Bridge man.

Contreras was one of five people charged in the June 2010 death of 49-year-old Divyendu Sinha. Prosecutors said Contreras was driving the four other defendants who allegedly carried out the attack. They face trial later this year.

Sinha suffered head injuries when he was attacked while walking with his wife and two sons near their Old Bridge home.
