Misty the Pit Bull – Is it Time to Bring the Death Penalty to Animal Abusers? [POLL]

Jim has discussed this argument in the past and this latest story of animal abuse is enough to bring it up again.    Misty the Pitt Bull was recovering from gruesome injuries she received after being used as bait in a dog fighting ring in Brooklyn N.Y. She is currently missing, after running away from her foster home here in NJ. But if you see the photo of Misty below. Who would let this happen to an innocent animal?

What normal person would harm an innocent animal like this? If they would harm an animal to this extent, how long before they turn the harm to humans? Maybe the death penalty should be reinstated and not just for the loss of human life, but for the loss of animals as well?
