A jury is unable to reach a verdict in the trial of a man charged with killing an engaged couple during a botched carjacking outside their home.

The Jersey Journal reports jurors told a state Superior Court judge in Jersey City Thursday they were unable to reach a verdict after two days of deliberations.

Twenty-one-year-old Shiquan Bellamy was charged with murder, carjacking and robbery in the 2010 execution-style murders of 27-year-old Michael Muchiaki and his 25-year-old girlfriend, Nia Haqq.

Prosecutors say the victims were each shot twice in the head outside their Jersey City home in April 2010, shortly after they had attended their engagement party.

Bellamy's cousin, Latonia Bellamy was sentenced to life plus 30 years in February for her role in the shooting.
