A missing veteran from Highland Park may have been spotted in the Fords section of Woodbridge.

Highland Park Police said they checked out tips from residents that someone resembling Adam Sharp, a former Marine, was seen in the area of a Quick Check on New Brunswick Avenue in Woodbridge on Friday, but were unsuccessful in finding him.

Sharp, 23, was reported missing on New Year's Eve by police. He is 5 feet and 8 inches tall, weighs 130 pounds, and has green eyes and brown hair. He has a full beard and was last seen wearing pajama bottoms and a jacket.

His sister-in-law, Samantha Jones, on her Facebook page said Sharp has no wallet or ID and may be trying to walk home to North Carolina.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about Sharp's whereabouts to call either the police department in the area where he is seen, or Highland Park Police at 732-572-3800, ext 4263.
