A missing 55-year-old Middletown man whose car was found in a suspicious fire has been found in Florida.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office in a statement said Anthony Tassello was located in Fort Lauderdale "alive and well" but did not offer information on how he wound up in Florida. He was reported missing by family members Monday after he was last seen Monday morning.

The car he was driving in, a white 2008 Ford Escape, was one of five burned during a fire deemed suspicious by prosecutors at Tom's Ford Dealership on Route 35 in Keyport. Middletown Police were concerned for his safety and believed he was in or near New York City. 

Middletown Police, Keyport Police and the Prosecutor's Office were all involved in the search for Tassello,

According to his Facebook page Tassello is married and is a long time employee of Trap Rock Industries in Kingston
