NEWARK — Police say two young children who had been taken by their homeless father after a supervised visit were found Wednesday near Boston.

Police say they got the report of the missing children Tuesday night — after Sammy Tene, 5, and China Tene, 4, went missing with their father, Moso B. Tene, 30 following a visit at the New Jersey Family Court Building in Newark.

"A supervising worker from the State of New Jersey (Child Protection and Permanency) had left the room during the visit," Newark Police said in a statement. "When the worker returned, the father and children were gone."

They were found the next day near Boston, CBS New York reported.

Tene is homeless and has a history of drug addiction, police said.
