WANAQUE — A small earthquake rattled North Jersey on Monday night

The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory in Palisades, New York reported a magnitude 1.0 earthquake in Wanaque to the U.S. Geological Survey around 10:45 p.m.

Police in nearby Ringwood and Oakland told New Jersey 101.5 they did not receive any calls about the earthquake or any damage.

According to the USGS there have been 13 earthquakes measured in New Jersey in 2016 including a 2.1 magnitude quake in Ringwood on January. A quarry blast near Riverdale created an earthquake that measured 1.2 on the Richter scale. There were six minor shakers near Kinnelon this year according to the USGS.

There were also reports of an earthquake when a sonic boom was created during a test flight out of Maryland on January 28.
