Military Helicopter in Hopewell for Pot Growing Investigation
A low-flying military helicopter will be flying over parts of Hopewell Township today in connection with a marijuana-growing investigation and police urge residents not to be alarmed.
The National Guard helicopter is helping the police as part of a marijuana-growing investigation.
Police Chief George Meyer says the alert was issued so that people who sighted the helicopter wouldn't be alarmed.
He says the township has a lot of rural areas far from the roads and the air-sweep is something they do periodically.
"The detectives had developed some information and that's why they're targeting that area," Meyer says.
The news alert was issued today around 10:50 a.m. and the helicopter is expected to be finished shortly.
