The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, which is handling the case, says their investigation is continuing and did not offer additional details. Staten Island Congressman Michael Grimm (R), a family friend who took the lead in the search, issued a statement calling Michael's recovery a "Thanksgiving blessing."

"Thanks to the efforts of concerned citizens, countless volunteers, media coverage and prayers from the community, Michael Karwan has been located and will be reunited with his family just in time for the holidays.  I am very proud of Michael’s father, Walter Karwan, for his strength, faith, and perseverance throughout this trying time.” read the statement according to PIX 11.

Grimm told CBS New York that Karwan was trying to check into a Cleveland hotel run by a religious organization. When they learned Karwan was missing police were called.

Karwan disappeared from his Marlboro home  a week ago after an argument with his parents. There were various sightings of him in Manhattan and the Hudson Valley after it was learned he was given directions to Marlboro, New York by someone at the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
