Mercy and Nellie are Looking for Homes [NJ Pets of the Week]
NJ101.5 has partnered with local animal rescue organization Sammy’s Hope to feature adoptable local pets in need of homes.
Help us find these pets homes by sharing this info with family members, friends who may be interested in adopting a shelter pet.
Nellie is a sweet, calm American Bulldog mix who is estimated to be about 2 years old. She was found as a stray running with another adoptable dog named Sully. Nellie is a gentle leash walker, loves to take treats and knows the sit command. She is happiest when sitting with a volunteer friend in the shade of the trees and will flip on her back immediately for belly rubs. This gentle girl would be happy in a quiet loving home where she could get all of the attention she deserves.
Nellie is spayed, up to date with routine shots and is house trained. If you are interested in meeting Nellie or fostering or adopting her, please contact Sammy’s Hope by email at email@example.com. You can download a PDF copy of the application form here or you can see more adoptable dogs from Sammy’s Hope here.
Mercy is an all-grey young female who was left at the shelter with Ivan and Leopold. She was fiercely protective of lvan until they were both spayed and neutered and separated. Now she is seeking out human affection. Or – to be more precise – a human holding a feather on a stick, which we are using to show her just how nice it feels to be stroked. She sure does love that feather, rubbing against it and purring, and is slowly but surely accepting human touches, too. Winning the trust of this girl will bring great rewards to the lucky human who finds it in their heart to give her a safe and loving home.
