Menendez Writes a Big Check [AUDIO]

In an effort to squash any ethics questions, Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) has paid a major donor back for his hospitality.

Menendez came under fire after it was revealed he took lavish vacations with Florida eye doctor Salomon Melgen.

He stuck to his promise of covering the trips out of his pocket, reportedly paying close to $60,000 to the prominent Democratic donor.

The jaunts included private jet rides to the Dominican Republic, which brought a wave of criticism to Menendez.

A 2013 financial-disclosure report shows that the reimbursement also took a hefty bite out of his net worth.
