The developers of a proposed megamall in northern New Jersey have asked a judge to dismiss a lawsuit filed by the state's two NFL teams, who claim the project in their backyard would create epic traffic problems and interfere with game days.

Canadian-based Triple Five made the request in court papers filed Tuesday.

It's their response to suit filed last month by the New York Giants and the New York Jets, who claim the proposed "American Dream Meadowlands" facility violates a prior agreement they had to approve any expansion plans at the East Rutherford site, which is near MetLife stadium where the teams play.

Lawyers representing the teams and the company that built the stadium also claim the project will create "a transportation nightmare" that will adversely affect football fans.
