Mayor Ticketed For Driving With Cellphone
Old Bridge's mayor is praising a police officer in his hometown for ticketing him for driving
while talking on a cellphone.
Mayor Owen Henry was about to turn into the municipal complex when he was pulled over and given a summons on Tuesday.
Henry tells The Star-Ledger of Newark he was wrong for violating the law and will pay the $100 fine.
It's against the law in New Jersey for motorists to talk or text on cellphones.
The mayor says he normally uses a hands-free device, which is
allowed, but apparently he had taken it out of his vehicle.
