March of Dimes Holds Event for NJ Moms, Babies [AUDIO]

"We're the leading non-profit organization for pregnancy and baby health," said Addy Bonet, NJ State Director.

The group is among more than 45 March of Dimes chapters across the country, with offices in Pine Brook, Vorhees, and Sayreville.

Bonet said they have raised close to $4 million in New Jersey, which goes towards programs and research to help babies be born healthy, and assist those born too sick or too soon.

On April 27th, they hold their annual March for Babies, which is a series of fundraising walks taking place around New Jersey.

"This is our biggest fundraiser," she said. "Families come out to celebrate babies and celebrate the life of babies."

Since 1970, the event has raised over $2 billion nationwide.

"When you take part in the March for Babies, you help give more babies a healthy start in life," Bonet said.
