Man who shot construction worker in NJ still at large, police say

Toms River Police are investigating a shooting that took place at a construction site late Monday night.

The 36-year-old male victim was was brought by private car to Monmouth Medical Center's Southern Campus in Lakewood. The victim later told police he was shot by a man who approached him on foot at a construction project on Route 9 in Toms River at the West Hickory RoadThe victim is in critical condition according to police.

Police do not have a description of the suspect. Toms River Police, the Ocean County Sheriff's Department and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the incident.
