Man Wanted In Deadly Stabbing Surrenders
Authorities say a Roselle man wanted on charges stemming from the fatal stabbing of a Texas man on New Year's Eve has turned himself in.
Shaquan Johnson is held on $500,000 bail, charged with murder. Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey Soriano says the Grape Street 103 Crips gang member surrendered to detectives on Thursday.
The 20-year-old Roselle resident is accused of stabbing 30-year-old Chad Robertson to death at a hotel in Somerset.
Prosecutors said the father of five from Shoreacres, Texas, was killed when he tried to help a 29-year-old colleague from Houston who was being attacked by several people.
Authorities said the attack appeared random.
