Man doused another in lighter fluid, bashed him with hammer, cops say

An argument between a contractor and the owner of a computer repair store escalated into a fight involving a hammer and lighter fluid, according to police.

Gloucester Township Police said Jason Brad of Pine Hill came to Computer Techz on Black Horse Pike in Blackwood on Monday morning looking for payment for work he did for Lloyd Naiper.  As Brad and Napier began to argue over how much money Brad was owed, Brad began to spray Napier with lighter fluid and threatened to "light him on fire and kill him," according to police.

Napier tried to grab Brad, but was hit in the head several times with a hammer, police said. Police said Napier still managed to get on top of Brad and hold him to the ground until officers arrived.

"I had a big laceration on the top of my head. I required give staples," Napier told Fox 29. He told the station he had asked Brad to wait a day to be paid so his hours could be verified.

Brad was was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, terroristic threats and causing or risking widespread injury or damage, police said. He is being held on $100,000 bail at the Camden County Correction Facility.

Police said Napier was hospitalized and treated for his injuries  but expected to be released.
