Man struck, killed by NJ Transit train in Newark
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- A man has been struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit train at Newark's Broad Station station.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m. at the westbound end of the elevated station.
NJ Transit spokeswoman Nancy Snyder says the adult male trespasser was struck by a Hoboken-bound train on the Morris & Essex line. Snyder says none of the approximately 75 passengers and train crew members was injured. The man was not identified.
Other train service was not affected.
