A 32-year-old man from Bayville was stabbed at Hemingway's Cafe in Seaside Heights just before midnight on Saturday.

The stabbing took place after a "verbal altercation" occurred between two customers, Seaside Heights Police Chief Thomas Boyd tells the Ocean County Signal.

The victim was stabbed in the lower abdomen and was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center. The suspect fled the Boulevard restaurant and is still being sought by police.
