Man stabbed in heart in Englewood
ENGLEWOOD, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities say an Englewood man is "lucky to be alive" after he was stabbed in the heart.
Authorities have charged the 27-year-old's housemate with attempted murder and weapons offenses. Police would not identify the 26-year-old suspect or the victim.
Detective Capt. Timothy Torell tells The Record newspaper the men got into an argument and the victim was stabbed once in their home on West Palisade Avenue early Thursday.
Torell says two police officers stopped the victim's bleeding. Torell says doctors told police another 30 seconds and the man would not have made it.
