A Neptune City man was found shot to death in the parking lot of the VFW Hall in Neptune Township on Monday night.

Charles Webster, spokesman for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, said shots were heard coming from the parking lot of the facility on Corlies Avenue around 8 p.m. Township police found the body of Corey Basden in the rear lot and pronounced him dead around 8:15 p.m., according to Webster.,

A witness told the Asbury Park Press that a repast was going on at the hall with about 100 people in attendance.

It's the second shooting at the hall in the past year. A 20-year-old woman was shot in November during a fight.
