Shots rang out — striking at least one man — as children practiced youth football Thursday night in Pleasantville, according to a report.

The Press of Atlantic City quotes Capt. Danny Adcock saying police received sevreal reports of gunshots being fired just before 7:30 p.m., but couldn't find any shooting victim at the scene. Shortly after, aman arrived at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus in Atlantic City with a gunshot wound, the report said. The man reportedly told police he'd tried to take cover, but then felt a burning sensation in his left shoulder, and drove himself to the hospital.

Authorities have not released his name. The report says a red motorcycle was seen leaving the area, but authorities do not know if that is related.

A call to Pleasantville Police by New Jersey 101.5 Friday morning seeking more information has not yet been returned.

It was not clear from the report how old the children practicing Thursday night were.
