Man Sentenced for Sex Assault of Young Daughter

Prosecutors say a northern New Jersey man who made his young daughter perform oral sex on him has been nsentenced to 15 years in prison.

The 28-year-old Jersey City man -- whose name was not released to protect his daughter's identity -- must serve more than 12 years before becoming eligible for parole. He was convicted in February on charges of aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment.

Hudson County prosecutors tell The Jersey Journal that the child was 4 years old when the

incident occurred. She told her baby sitter about it two years later, and the sitter told the child's mother the next day.

But the mother did not immediately notify police, and an anonymous caller reported the allegation to the state Division of Youth and Family Services.
