A northern New Jersey man has admitted carjacking a 65-year-old grandmother, who was seriously injured when she became entangled in a seat belt and was dragged by the vehicle for two blocks.

Twenty-five-year-old Muhammad Ramseur of Newark faces a 15-year state prison term when he's sentenced March 16.

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray announced Monday night that Ramseur entered his plea late Friday. That came while jurors were still deliberating the seven counts against him, including conspiracy, carjacking and aggravated assault.

Besides those seven counts, Ramseur also pleaded guilty to unrelated carjacking and burglary charges.

Murray says the grandmother, whose name was not disclosed, suffered a dislocated shoulder, a broken collar bone and numerous lacerations and bruises when Ramseur carjacked her after a June 2010 fender-bender.
